Mother and son works together joyfully, supporting one another in their ideas and execution.
In this year’s special ‘Terima Kasih, Dhammananda!’ Exhibition, Bro. Leong Ji Liang took lead to bring to life a personally designed mural that depicts the late Ven. K. Sri Dhammananda’s lifetime dedication and contributions to the Buddha-Sasana and to the development of Buddhism in Malaysia.
Bro. Ji Liang is a university student and has been spending his school holidays doing service at Nalanda Centre since he completed his high school exams. Humble, helpful and ever willing to learn, he upskills himself whilst leveraging his interests to contribute towards Nalanda’s mission of holistic Buddhist education.

Bro. Ji Liang works quietly and mindfully as he brings the ideas to fruition.
His mom, Sis. Sharon Lim joined him to put the finishing touches to the mural. Working quietly and diligently, we can’t help but admire the mother & son team. When we expressed our gratitude to Sis. Sharon for allowing her son to serve at Nalanda, she quickly shared her appreciation to the Dhamma community which enables this platform for Bro. Ji Liang to spend his days meaningfully and in the company of spiritual friends.
Rare it is for the entire family unit to be aligned and dedicated to Dhamma as well as service to the community. But when it occurs, it is a beautiful and rejoiceful occasion.
